The
Bulgarian Telework Association (BgTA) is a non-profit and
non-government organisation whose main objectives are to study,
support and disseminate all forms of telework in Bulgaria
in an independent way. This includes home-based teleworking,
nomadic teleworking and off-shore teleworking in the field
of information and consulting services. The activities of
BgTA in teleworking field benefit people by increasing the
quality of life and improving access to work.
The Bulgarian Telework Association was established on April
30 1999 by representatives of Sofia University, Ministry of
Education and Science, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry
of Labour and Social Policy, small and medium enterprises.
BgTA is the first telework association in Eastern Europe and
a member of the ETO (European Telework Online) team.
Membership in BgTA is open to all social and economic organisations
and institutions in Bulgaria who are concerned with the new
ways of working - small and medium enterprises, public administration
and service, educational institutions, professional associations
and unions, mass media, telecommunications companies, persons-individuals.

Raising awareness of the opportunities

Organizing and supporting international
and domestic events concerning telework, conferences,
seminars, meetings, with participation of businessman,
researchers, experts and government representatives; |

Maintaining contacts and cooperation
with similar organisations in Bulgaria and abroad; |

Organizing and coordinating the participation
of Bulgarian research teams and individuals in joint European
initiatives, programs and projects in the field of telework; |

Creating a system supporting the telework
activities in Bulgaria. |

| BgTA's services are intended
for NGOs, SMEs, entrepreneurs, companies, international
organisations, foreign companies, disabled groups, local
experts, consultants, researchers and experts working
in the filed of telework, educational institutions and
government bodies. |
